Introducing our Member of the Month for June, Tara Puzin! Q1: Please tell us a bit about yourself. I moved to Brisbane about 5 years ago with my husband from the USA and we absolutely love it here. The people and weather are both amazing! It’s a wonderful little city; best place I have lived for sure. I currently work for Brisbane City Council as a Civil Engineer. I work in the area of Pavement Design, so I spend my days looking at city streets and then redesigning rehabilitation options to try and get the most bang for the city’s buck. It’s actually a very enjoyable job most of the time.nQ2. Was there a particular “snap point” for you that made you want to start training?nI had been putting on weight for a while and then I really started putting it on once I moved here. My first job in Brisbane was very active and even though I had put on some weight, it seemed manageable. But as soon as I got the job at council (which is a desk job 80{7df2fa278681574f8ee76c89e5b6d0450e46b07d023c695a72a7083fc9167d1f} of the time) clothes stopped fitting and I knew I had to do something before my weight got out of hand. Q3. What’s been the biggest thing you’ve learnt from living the Metabolic Precision lifestyle?nNutrition is so important and preparation/timing is everything. Protein (and a lot of it) is essential to maintain and build muscle. Eating 6 small meals a day is better than 3 large meals. Also, eating veggies with every solid meal is a great way to add nutritionally dense, energy sparse, carbohydrates. Q4. What’s your favourite exercise to do and why?nThere are 3: Bench, squat and deadlift! These are the 3 lifts done in a powerlifting competition and my goal is to compete in August at the CAPO National Powerlifting Titles. Q5: What’s your advice for anyone thinking of starting an exercise or nutrition program?nJust do it! It will be one of the best things you have ever done for yourself. Q6: What do you enjoy about training at MP?nBest training studio ever! There is so much love and support at MP, making it a really special place to train. I really appreciate the support for my personal goals and growth and love that when I leave the studio, I feel good about what is to come. ——————————— Tara is achieving fantastic progress with her nutrition and weights sessions – we HAD to choose her this month for Member of the Month! We can’t wait to watch her compete in her powerlifting competition next month and we are so proud of the new goals she has set for herself. We will be cheering for you, Tara! Tara trains 3 times each week in our FIRE training program. Every week, she is getting stronger, at the same time as burning fat and building muscle – can’t ask for much more than that! Learn more about what FIRE training can do for you HERE!
