New mums have so much on their plate – new routines, sleepless nights, the absolute 100{8964c77004c80ceb7a483a88d57a7a9902025e52f9fec2df9408e739e584e0eb} reliance of another human being on you 24/7, just to name a few. So it really annoys me when I see magazines, websites and social media plastered with words about mums “getting their body back.”nGreat, just another thing I have to worry about! But even I was contributing to this pressure at one stage – I used to write, “Get your pre-baby body back!” on our fliers for our Mums n Bubs classes. Since then, I’ve come to a bit of a realisation that I don’t believe that a mum will ever get her body back…. And why should she?nWe’ve created a life, grown a life and given birth to a life. We’ve used our body to feed our babies, to drag ourselves out of bed to comfort our babies several times a night… Our bodies are amazing! Once we’ve been through that, I think it’s impossible to ever live in the same body we had before we fell pregnant. (That would require a whole lot of catch-up sleep!)nAnd that’s not a bad thing. I’m not saying that you won’t ever fit into your pre-baby clothes again or have the same body tone you did before falling pregnant, and I’m definitely not saying that it’s impossible to look and feel fabulous! I’m just saying that we need to love our bodies for the amazing gifts they’ve brought into our lives and be grateful for what we have.nYou are beautiful and you’re doing a great job, Mumma x
